Who would ever thought that I would be doing this?! Yes, I am a programmer, but the applications I am doing is not internet-based, they are just merely backend applications that handles day-to-day loan transactions of a bank. Thanks to my friend, Jeffrey Chua, who invited me to an exhibit entitled Internet Business Opportunity and this became the tipping point!
Jeffrey attended a boot camp of http://www.entrepreneurship-in-singapore.info/index2.html here in Malaysia, wherein the final task is they are required to form a booth that will promote a product to the market. They liaised with an e-learning company, Skyquestcom, that showcases motivational seminars from famous speakers and computer courses in their site - www.skyquestcom.com/GreatAbundance. During the exhibit we were invited to listen to a presentation being conducted by Nancy Yeoh. Is she so good in uncovering our hunger for knowledge or in exposing our greed for more monetary opportunities? :) Well, her presentation worked! We need not be coaxed to subscribe to the site and immediately our journey in internet marketing begins.
This is such an immense endeavor for us! Oftentimes, we remind ourselves not to be overwhelmed by the nitty-gritty of the technical side but instead keep our passion to learn and our enthusiasm to optimize the use of the product itself. Our overwhelming interest in this e-learning site, will enable us to do our sales pitch effectively and find strategies to attract customers and keep them coming back.
We started just last September of this year (2008)...I will keep you posted of our challenges and joys in these new found endeavors!
